"My advice to next year's ninth graders coming to SHS would be to make the most out of every opportunity given to you. The teachers here are amazing and looking back on how much I have stressed in the last four years, I realized that I didn't need to. Everything is going to be okay so you really just need to enjoy your experience because it goes by just as fast as it comes. Go to sports games, don't miss out on dances, and just have fun!"

Elementary School: Hope Elementary School

Post-High School Plans: I’m attending the University of New Hampshire majoring in Biology on a pre-veterinary track

Dream Job: My dream job is to be a large animal veterinarian to help and treat animals so I can advocate for them and be the voice that they don't have.

Who was your favorite teacher or staff member during your time at SHS?:  My favorite teacher at SHS is Mrs. Dailey! She teaches math, and I am in her Topics in College Mathematics class, her AP Calculus course, and I have her for Math Lab as well. We were able to spend a lot of time together, and I realized how hard she tries to make connectionswith her students. You can tell that she puts her all into teaching and wants you to do your best. She always made sure I understood the material in AP Calc and even in the times where I had no clue what I was doing, she always reassured me that I was okay and motivated me to do better. Mrs. Dailey is the best teacher I have ever had, and any student would be lucky to have a class taught by her.

What was your favorite class you took during your time at SHS?:  It's hard to say what my favorite class was since I loved most of them. I think overall, I was the most interested in my science classes, and it's always easy to have a lot of fun in them. With all of the labs that we did, it was a great time for friends to have fun together for a couple of days while also learning so much and having great experiences.

What advice would you give to next year’s ninth-grade students?:  My advice to next year's ninth graders coming to SHS would be to make the most out of every opportunity given to them. The teachers here are amazingand looking back on how much I have stressed in the last four years, I realized that I didn't need to. Everything is going tobe okay so you just need to enjoy your experience because it goes by just as fast as it comes. Go to sports games, don'tmiss out on dances, and just have fun!

What makes SHS special?: SHS is so special because, with the small community, everyone knows everyone. There's not a person in my class who I haven't spoken to or don't know, and it's so easy to just see anyone in the hall or a class and be able to have a conversation with them and feel comfortable. The teachers here are amazing and there isn't a class I'vetaken that I haven't enjoyed.

What will you miss the most about SHS? : The thing I will miss most about Scituate High School is the community that is here. The school has always been welcoming and I've always known that I could go to anyone in this school whether it's a teacher or a student for help because everyone is so trusting. Because of the sense of belonging here, I think that'swhy I'll miss it so much because I'll have to leave people who I've been in school with since Kindergarten.
