"SHS is special because it is a smaller school so it is easier to build connections and have a sense of community. It's easier to build connections with not only your peers but also your teachers."

Class of 2024
Savannah Phillips
Elementary School: Clayville Elementary School
Post High School Plans: I'm attending Johnson & Wales University for Sport Event and Entertainment Management.
Dream Job: Working in a stadium setting up for events that people will remember for the rest of their lives because it sounds fun to be a part of events like that and being paid for it while also getting to experience it.
Who was your favorite teacher or staff member during your time at SHS?: I can’t pick one favorite teacher, but a few of them include Mr. Ballou for Economics and Mr. Lisi for French. They are both some of my favorite teachers because they make it easy to follow along in class and make the material easier to understand. They also add some much-needed humor occasionally to make things interesting.
What was your favorite class you took during your time at SHS?: My favorite class was probably Intro to Sports Medicine because it introduced me to a new topic I didn’t know I was interested in until I took the class. The things we were learning about were interesting and it allowed me to explore more career options within sports.
What advice would you give to next year’s ninth-grade students?: Take your art and language classes either your Freshman or Sophomore year because you are not going to want to take required classes your junior and senior year.
What makes SHS special?: SHS is special because it is a smaller school so it is easier to build connections and have a sense of community. It's easier to build connections with not only your peers but also your teachers.
What will you miss the most about SHS? : I'll miss the small school environment.
