Earlier this week, representatives from the Scituate Lion's Club came and visited third-grade students at Clayville Elementary and distributed dictionaries to all students. Students also had the chance to do a scavenger hunt with clues to find words in the dictionary!
North Scituate students in Mrs. Bettez's class used place value disks to continue their learning about place value using Eureka Math in November!
Scituate Takes 2nd Place at the 2024 South County Invitational!
Out of 27 competitive teams, Scituate put on an incredible performance, earning 212.5 points and securing the second-place spot! A huge shoutout to our wrestlers for their hard work and determination on the mat.

Clayville fourth graders were super excited to help Sergeant Parenti unload all of the toy donations that will go toward helping local families in need this holiday season!

The Scituate High School Music Department had an awesome week rehearsing, performing, and attending Hamilton! They attended High Five Friday at North Scituate Elementary School, where they also put on a performance! The chorus strolled the town Friday night singing carols, and the band played at the gazebo for Santa’s arrival. The Holiday Concert is on Wednesday, December 18th at 7pm, all are welcome to attend and join in on the fun!

Students in Modern World History completed a unit comparing the Crusades to the current conflict over Israel. Students acted as journalists and prepared high-level, thought-provoking, and culturally sensitive questions to pose to Gaya Dahan, the Israeli Emissary in Rhode Island. Students were deeply moved by her stories about the friends she lost on Oct. 7th and the fighting taking place in Gaza.

Third Graders at Hope Elementary focused on gratitude in the month of November! They wrote a 5 paragraph essay about what they are thankful for and even made a "gratitude pumpkin" in the classroom!
Mrs. Wareing’s and Mrs. Dailey’s geometry classes combined for a group activity to introduce the concepts of logic and proof. Using the card game UNO as a framework, students wrote proofs on interactive slides explaining how a player could map a series of plays from a given card to a specified card.
This past week, 8th graders from the Linus Club took some time to talk with 6th and 7th-grade students about the club and its purpose to encourage more students to join! The Linus Club members create blankets for children in need, and all students are welcome to join.
Cupcake Wars have begun! Students in the Culinary classes are designing themed cupcakes for a competition.
Finished products will be on display in the library for voting next week!
Congratulations to the North Scituate Elementary students who earned positive office referrals in November! Students can receive these awards for EXEMPLARY behavior in the following categories: Growth Mindset, Problem Solving, Managing Emotions, Effort, Kindness, and Goal Setting!
Abigail Schmeling and Isabella Wilson visited a North Scituate Elementary Kindergarten class to teach a lesson about germs as part of their classwork for the Education Pathway!
1st-grade students in Mrs. McCann's class at Hope Elementary have been busy completing Mystery Science lessons from the Animal Traits and Survival unit! They had to test a bird beak vs. a duck beak for getting food- which is more efficient under certain circumstances. They also learned about camouflage and they had to create a camouflaged moth in the classroom.
Students in Physical Earth Science experimented with Newton's 1st Law of Motion by working with dominos this week! It was a challenging way of finishing off their unit on inertia.
