
Kindergarteners at North Scituate Elementary had a great time celebrating the 100th day of school! Students dressed up and played math games with numbers up to 100.




Congratulations to the North Scituate students who earned Positive Office Referrals
in February! Students receive Positive Office Referrals from a faculty or staff member for EXEMPLARY behavior in the following categories: Growth Mindset, Problem Solving, Managing Emotions, Effort, Kindness, and Goal Setting.



Students at North Scituate completed their Turkey Trot challenge back in November and have patiently waited for their reward. We decided to make it "snow play" extra recess! Students had a great time outside!



The Boys Indoor Track Team joined North Scituate for High Five Friday this past month. Elementary students were eager to start their day with high fives and smiling faces. Thank you to SRO Sgt. Parenti for facilitating!

The SHS Childhood Education Academy visited students at North Scituate last week to teach a lesson on kindness! High school students designed puzzles, a bingo game, and workbooks to help teach elementary students the importance of being kind to others.






North Scituate students in Miss Cuttle's class used some traditional board games for extra math practice in January. Students worked in collaborative groups and used white boards to solve the problems!


Third grade experts at North Scituate shared books they researched and wrote on weather phenomena with classmates. Students found teaching others what they learned to be so much fun! Well done, Mrs. DiLuglio's class!



Second grade scientists at North Scituate in Mrs. O'Grady's class designed bird feeder prototypes! In a Mystery Science lesson, students investigated which kinds of birds are likely to visit a bird feeder based on what they eat.
In the activity, Design a Bird Feeder, students first drew their own bird feeder design to attract a specific type of bird. Then, they built a prototype of their bird feeder using available materials. Everyone was very creative!


North Scituate 1st grade students in Mrs. Lancellotta's class learned about their heart and how fast it beats in a health class with Mrs. McCann!

Kindergarten students at North Scituate Elementary cashed in their PBIS stars for their monthly incentive of Game Day. During Game Day, students brought in a special game from home to share with their classmates. Principal Soccio loved seeing all the different games and watching everyone work together.



Scituate High School's HOSA Club (Future Health Professionals) presented to North Scituate 4th and 5th graders about hygiene! The club prepared a presentation, activities, surveys, and more to engage students.

North Scituate students in grade 4 have been studying volcano patterns, as well as volcano characteristics. The first week students worked in groups to map out all of the active volcanoes across the world. In the second week, they completed an experiment to see the different types of lava that come from different volcanoes!


During the North Scituate Holiday Shop, fifth graders assisted Kindergarten friends with their holiday shopping. Our fifth graders helped younger students select items and stick to their budget. We saw great leadership skills from our 5th grade students, and tons of smiles from fifth-grade, and kindergarteners alike!


North Scituate Kindergarten students in Mrs. Slaughter's class completed a unit on measuring length in December. They went on a classroom hunt to find objects longer than, or shorter than, their red string!

North Scituate chorus members in 4th & 5th grade sang for students, staff, and their families on December 18th. The chorus practiced new songs and a few classic songs weekly with Mrs. Ethier. Everyone had fun and did a fantastic job!
