SMS held a pink-out day last week and our students were excited to participate!
John Marion, the Executive Director of Common Cause RI, came in to talk to Ms. Grundt’s AP US Government and Politics class on October 24. He provided an excellent background on RI voter laws. The students are more than prepped for working at the polls in Scituate on Election Day!
Students in Mr. Dunne's 7th grade class are studying the Age of Exploration. Students made quadrants, a navigational tool created to determine latitude. Students moved around the classroom and recorded measurements using constellations displayed in the classroom. For a challenge students were asked to use the real north star, hint: it's at the tail end of the Little Dipper, to find their latitude at home.
Congratulations to our middle school students who earned Spartan Shout-outs last week!
