In honor of Principal Hassell's last year serving as the President of the Rhode Island Association of School Principals, we held a celebration for him in the school library and invited RIASP Executive Director, Don Rebello, who congratulated Mr. Hassell for the work he's done and presented him with a personalized chair!

Congratulations to Spartan Pride recipient, Aidan Mycroft! Aidan has grown immensely in his four years at SHS. He advocated for himself to be challenged more academically over the years, showing initiative and drive. He has worked hard in his courses to achieve good grades and shows a genuine interest in learning. She's welcoming to younger students, and she enjoys working with the elderly at her after-school job. In Working With Children, the students work with Mrs. Clark's students setting up and running a small business. Students in Medical Interventions are working on a unit about preventing cancer. In this lab, students expose 2 strains of yeast to UV light to see the effect. Next, students will design an experiment to try to determine the best way to protect the yeast from UV damage.

Congratulations to the middle school track athletes who competed at States on Sunday! We had 5 girls who competed: Sophia L, Addy B, Liliana B, Elin D, and Roma D. The boys finished in 6th place out of the entire state!! Competing were Lucas B, Joey J, Logan W, Kole Y, Oliver R, Chris D, Andrew B, and Jackson Downs. Helping to secure 6th place were: Oliver who placed 2nd in the 400 & 800 and 5th in the long jump; Chris who placed 3rd in the long jump and the boys 4x400 team of Chris, Joey, Andrew and Oliver who placed 4th!
